Wenatchee Racquet & Athletic Club started nearly 60 years ago, in the fall of 1961, by a community of like minded people, remains strong and dedicated to the health and well being of our community. As much as we are excited to welcome you back to the club, we also are very aware and concerned that the guidelines and protocols which are set for our road to recovery are observed by all who participate.
Distancing may be part of our new "normal", but equally as important is staying active and connected. It is vital to our health to have safe places to participate in activities which boost our immune system as well as improve our mental and physical health through exercise. We have worked hard to modify spaces, provide proper equipment and means by which our members and staff can continue to exercise and practice this healthy lifestyle together. All WRAC indoor activity spaces are now equipped with continually disinfecting Air Scrubbers in our HVAC systems. Nightly disinfecting and cleaning though out the facility is now done with our new Electrostatic sprayer. See photos of these below. We need your help to stay on this path. To guarantee a safe environment by following our WRAC Care Program guidelines and showing the utmost respect for your fellow members as you practice safe distancing. Not feeling well? Stay home until you are well and ready to return to the club. Thank you to everyone as we start a new chapter at the club, you are part of the team which will keep everyone healthy and safe. The slideshow below is our full WRAC Care Program plan. You will be required to complete the updated Club Liability waiver for continued use of the club. Please complete this online prior to or upon your return to the club. If you need any assistance please contact the club by emailing [email protected] or calling (509) 662-3544. |

PREPARING TO PLAY
- Effective March 12, 2022: Masks are NOT required for use of indoor club facilities.
- Wash your hands with a disinfectant soap and water (for 20 seconds or longer), or use a hand sanitizer if soap and water are not readily available, before going to the court.
- Clean and wipe down your equipment, including racquets and water bottles. Do not share racquets or any other equipment such as wristbands, grips, hats and towels.
- If you need to sneeze or cough, do so into a tissue or upper sleeve.
- Avoid touching your face after handling a ball, racquet or other equipment. Wash your hands promptly if you have touched your eyes, nose or mouth.
- Avoid sharing food, drinks or towels.
- Remain apart from other players when taking a break.
- Question? Is there any research which identified the potential for COVID-19 to be transmitted on tennis balls?
- Answer: A recent study determined that the surface of sports balls, notably football, golf, cricket, and tennis balls, are unlikely to harbor SARS-CoV-2 in a manner that is compatible with risk of developing COVID-19 from handling the ball during normal play. The International Tennis Federation (ITF) Sport Science and Medicine Commission, the USTA Sport Science Committee, and the USTA Medical Advisory Group support this conclusion.
