HOW TO SUPPORT WENATCHEE's FIRST INDOOR PICKLEBALL FACILITY
In 1961, the founders of the Wenatchee Swim and Tennis Club realized that combining two different recreational activities would attract more members than a single-purpose facility. 64 years later, that vision is stronger than ever, and drives the strategic and capital planning of today’s Wenatchee Racquet and Athletic Club.
We believe the whole of the WRAC is greater than the sum of its parts, or offerings. Crucially, any one of those offerings by itself could not stand on its own as a viable entity. Our beautiful location at the mouth of Number Two Canyon is not the crossroads of the Wenatchee Valley, yet 2500 plus member-owners find their way here to pursue an active and healthy lifestyle.
Simply put, we are better together.

That vision underpinned the board’s decision two years ago to build a six-court, dedicated indoor pickleball facility. The undeniable popularity of the sport was demonstrated as we shared space with enthusiastic pickleball players in our existing facilities. A calculated risk-reward decision was made to proceed with a significant investment in a dedicated pickleball structure.
After two years of planning and navigating many development and construction hurdles, the completion of the new facility is near! We anticipate a November 1st opening. Our management team and board are busy planning on many fronts for a successful launch of this new era at the WRAC. We’ve finally been able to expand onto our vacant property, purchased in 2007, and we have higher membership and revenues than ever before. The synergy of the parts has never been more evident.
