BASIC PICKLEBALL RULES

FUN FOR EVERYONE!

Kitchen Line Fault:
An opponent can call a Kitchen Line Fault. If your opponent sees without doubt there was a Foot Fault, your team cannot appeal the call. You can’t see your feet when striking the ball. Respect their call.

Courtesy
:

When you lose your ball to an adjacent court, please don’t distract the players by yelling, “BALL, BALL BALL”. It is your neighbors’ job to return the ball when play is suspended for them. When returning a lost ball please gently toss or hit ball back. Rolling or Kicking the ball back is inappropriate as it may damage or be a hazard.

Line Calls:

It is your teams’ job to make the out call. If you disagree with a call you may ask if they are sure. Make out calls immediate with either a verbal or physical hand gesture. Please don’t harass opponents for calls you disagree with. Ultimately, this sport is about having fun!

Scoring
:

After a long point it can be difficult to remember who was serving. After the point is over and you are the next player to serve, raise your hand gesturing for the ball. When saying the score, it is mandatory to say all 3 numbers. Your score, the opponents score, and 1 as in first server or 2 being the 2nd server.
