The WRAC swimming and water safety program features progressive levels of learn-to-swim instruction based on American Red Cross standards. Our programs are time efficient, easy to understand and fun, while teaching highly technical skills.
Water safety skills appropriate for each age group are introduced to all swimming levels. Our experienced staff is excited to bring you your best water experience ever!

Progression to next lesson level often takes 2-3 sessions. Please consult with your instructor before signing up for more than one session. Thank you!

TO REGISTER FOR SWIM LESSONS
Call 662-3544 OR USE WRAC APP or wrac.clubautomation.com if you are certain of level in which to enroll. Reminder that students normally remain in the same instruction level for at least 2 sessions. Lessons are held at the WRAC Outdoor Pool, 1909 #2 Canyon Rd. Our skilled and experienced instruction staff are always excited to provide your best ever WATER EXPERIENCE! The WRAC swimming and water safety program features progressive levels of learn-to-swim instruction based on American Red Cross standards. Our swim programs are designed to be time efficient, easy to understand and fun, while teaching highly technical skills. Water safety skills appropriate for each age group are introduced to all swimming levels. PRIVATE LESSONS - Call to schedule, 662-3544. SWIM INSTRUCTION SKILL LEVELS: BOBBIN BABIES: 3 month - 3 year olds with parent(s) in the water with child Introduction to water with fun games and songs. Instructor provides guidance for parents as they work with their child. LEVEL 1: INTRO TO WATER SKILLS is for swimmers who are comfortable in water. Students learn basics of swimming: bobbing, going under water, supported floating and similar skills. LEVEL 2: FUNDAMENTAL AQUATIC SKILLS is for swimmers should already be able to float on front and back and put their head under water. Students will work on independent floating, glides, front and back crawl arms and kicks, retrieving underwater objects, etc. LEVEL 3: STROKE DEVELOPMENT is for swimmers should be comfortable with front stroke and being on their back. Students will work on freestyle with side breathing, backstroke, treading water and jumping into and retrieving objects in deeper water. LEVEL 4: STROKE IMPROVEMENT is for swimmers should already be able to swim front and back crawl for 25 yards. Students will work on rotary breathing, freestyle, backstroke, breaststroke, intro to flip turns and diving, etc. WRAC SUMMER LEAGUE SWIM TEAM - REGISTER at: https://wrac.swimtopia.com/ 6 week competitive program with a meet each week, culminating with the Championship meet on the last Saturday in July. Participation prerequisites: 8 & younger must be able to swim 25 yards with at least one stroke and tread water for 1 minute; 9 & older must be able to swim 25 yards with two different strokes and tread water for 1 minute. Participation involves the whole family. Help from at least one parent/adult volunteer per swimmer is necessary to host meets.. |
